My Process
My artistic process is deeply rooted in intuition and exploration, where I enter a profound ‘flow state’ - an immersive zone of intense focus that allow creations to unfold mysteriously, sometimes off the beaten track often leaving me unable to fully recount the journey.
In those rare exhilarating moments when I can quiet the overthinking mind That believes it already knows the right path, and instead let my heart and soul lead, the work becomes far more alive, exciting and true to itself.
I keep returning to this practice because I love the act of creating and when I achieve that ‘surrender’ it feels deeply rewarding.
Working primarily in oils on canvas, when time permits, I relish the beautiful luminous depth this medium affords, enabling me to layer ideas freely over extended periods, building atmospheric worlds rich with light and shadow. Narrative elements weave subtly through my work/pieces, with secret background details, hazy shapes, and textured layers, inviting viewers to uncover personal interpretations.
Watercolours hold a special passion for their instantaneous magic, embracing free flow and serendipitous effects, while I thrive on experimentation embracing mistakes as gateways to innovation.
Various implements, including stencils and streaky applications add dynamism, and mixed media is my evolving frontier, where I finally incorporate acrylics, pastels, inks, and a variety of other mediums to infuse storytelling into my themes.
Drawing from three decades of growth, I aim to forge meditative works bursting with brilliant colours, Intricate textures and layered narratives.
