Hi, I’m Madhumati Manda

I am an artist and musician, born in India and now based in Scotland. I graduated from Visva Bharati University, Faculty of Fine Arts (Kala Bhavana), Santiniketan in 1998, where I completed my B.Fine (Hons), First Class, specialising in Painting.

My work is rooted in a free impressionistic style and I have always been fascinated by the interplay of colour, light and movement. These elements form the foundation of my paintings and guide how I respond to the world around me. I am drawn to capturing not just what is visible, but the feeling and rhythm of a moment.

Being both an artist and a musician, I am deeply influenced by rhythm, flow and harmony. I love bringing together movement, colour and impression, expressing the joy of life as it unfolds, the joy of that which is seen and that which is heard.

Over the years, I have held several solo exhibitions in India, including Colours of Life, This Vivid Life, Rhythms & Hues and Intrinsic Light, all shown at leading galleries in Kolkata. Alongside these, I have participated in numerous group exhibitions across India and London.

Now living and working in Scotland, I continue to explore my artistic language through Scottish landscapes and nature, responding to the changing light, atmosphere and energy of my surroundings.

My work remains a celebration of life’s impressions, expressive, fluid and guided by colour and movement.
